The county facility Brian Piccolo Park was named for the Broward County native who went on to play football for Wake Forest before losing his battle to cancer at the age of 26. The park bearing his name covers a whopping 180 acres and provides facilities for softball, football, basketball, tennis and racquetball, and has the only Velodrome in the southeastern U.S. as well as a nine-ramp skate park for pros.
Education in Cooper City
Served by four public schools, Cooper City takes education very seriously. Cooper City High School was recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a Five Star School for the 08/09 school year.
